These two calendar sites track and post everything from religious and secular holidays to special days, weeks and months commemorating an extraordinary array of people, occupations, events, hobbies and causes. Just scanning the lists on these sites should uncork any bottled up creativity you may be experiencing, as well as help you schedule when to pitch related queries to online and print periodicals.

I think the title says it all--I consider these the best sites for writers to find freelance writing jobs,

For the several few months, I have set Google alerts to notify me of sites that post new writing jobs for freelancers.

By far, I’ve found that the sites listed below are updated with the greatest frequency, and contain the greatest variety of better paying freelance writing opportunities. Without further ado, I give these sites the WriteSuccess Seal of Approval, and urge you to bookmark them (or set Google alerts as I do to receive email notifications that these sites have been recently updated):

http://www.aboutfreelancewriting.com

http://allfreelancewriting.com/

http://www.freelancewritinggigs.com

http://www.online-writing-jobs.com/

http://workingwritersandbloggers.com

http://www.killfive.com/

http://www.sunoasis.com/freelance.html

http://www.freelancewritingjobs.ca/ (Canadian writing jobs)

http://ghostwritinguncovered.com/Blog/category/european-writing-jobs/ (European writing jobs)

Think I’ve missed any good ones? Your suggestions and recommendations are always welcome!

If you’ve never set up a Google alert, you’re missing out on using a terrific free online tool. Here’s how to receive automatic e-mail alerts on the latest writing jobs posted on the Web:

Go to Google.com

On the top menu bar, click “more”

From the drop down menu, click “even more”

Select “Alerts” from the top left-hand column of choices

You can set up your alerts here, choose how frequently you wish to be notified, and to what e-mail address you want notifications sent. I recommend setting up at least two different alert, one under “writing jobs” and another under “jobs for writers” (you can actually set up as many variations on this theme as you wish, and go back later to delete the alerts that aren’t bringing you the results you seek). Then just let Google and e-mail do the work for you.
