Hello:
This past weekend I watched in awe as two football teams, one college and one pro, came back from shaky starts and scoring deficits to win their respective games.
Now, I’ve watched a lot of football games over the years, and have seen my share of come-from-behind victories, but what impressed me about these two games was that anyone watching would have thought the eventual winners were seriously outmatched, outwitted and outgunned. Not only that, but the pre-game press coverage for these teams had been less than encouraging. Despite the fact that both had winning records going into this weekend’s games, they’d only previously beaten mediocre opponents, had played far from flawless football, and appeared as though they would both get their butts kicked.
But the members of these two teams apparently knew something that the media, the opposing teams and even their most loyal but resigned fans did not—what they had was unwavering perseverance and heart. No matter what mistakes they made early on, no matter how big the setback and how long the odds, they kept going back out on the field and grinding it out. As we watched in disbelief, they turned the tides of their games with grit, persistence and, bless their hearts, belief in themselves.
Hmmm. Perseverance, heart and faith in oneself…you bet there’s a writing analogy there.
OK, let’s move on to this week’s list of writing contests. Here’s to your writing success.

Hello:
Television frequently gets a bad rap–has done so for years as a matter of fact. I remember hearing it called “the idiot box” as a child. In retrospect, considering some of the shows my siblings and I watched during those years, the label actually fit. And considering the plethora of “reality TV” shows today, I can see where it still might apply.
But as a writer, I have always appreciated the well-written scripts, great dialogue and character development that I see in most of my favorite programs. Yes, the actors and actresses contribute a great deal to why these shows work so well, as do directors, producers, camera people and the host of other folks who contribute to each episode, but without the script, the dialogue, or the story lines…well, there simply would be no television shows, right? OK, except for “reality” shows, maybe.
So I have my writing time, and my television time. I think each affects and enhances the other. At least, I’m not willing to give either of them up.
Here are this week’s writing contests…and here’s to your writing success!

Starting Today: Say “Yes!”
September 15, 2011 by Mary Anne
Filed under From My Desk To Yours
Hello:
I don’t know about you, but I’m pretty tired of all the doom and gloom in the news lately.
Sure, many of us have been facing physical, mental, emotional and economic challenges–we can’t just ignore those realities. But do do we have to surrender to them, let them pull us down and drain us of all energy and enthusiasm?
I say we don’t.
In fact, I say that it’s time to change the conversation and work on a new equation for dealing with what life, the economy and Mother Nature throws our way.
The time for being busy just for the sake of being busy is over. Starting now, let’s commit to saying “Yes!” and figuring out how to really live our best lives here and now…regardless of what else is going on around us. I want to help start a movement of positivity and ”can do-ness”–via my writing, via my business, and via the friends and colleagues in my network.
To kick this off, I want you to be among the first to know about Loral Langemeier’s upcoming new book “Yes! Energy: The Equation to Do Less, Make More.” I am very familiar with Loral’s previous work, her mission and her philosophies, and am excited to join her as she continues to encourage us to rediscover the pioneer spirit, ingenuity and courage that she believes lies within each and every one of us.
To celebrate the launch, you’re invited to join a VIP group to get your copy along with thousands of dollars in bonuses, and the chance to win even more in contests and giveaways.
Even better, Loral and I aren’t the only ones committed to changing the conversation.
She brought together 44 of her highest level friends, colleagues and experts to share their motivation and inspiration with you. You’ll hear their personal stories, how they’ve overcome their challenges, and what makes them who they are and do what they do every day.
They use the equation and you can too.
But you only get access by pre-ordering the new book now.
Click here to get your copy and take your seat for this groundbreaking
summit.
Here’s to your writing (and life) success,
Mary Anne
P.S.: To learn who’s in the summit as well as all of the other bonuses you’ll receive, get the details by clicking here.
